The meeting of the Council for National Security, chaired by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, held at the Presidency of Serbia in Belgrade, has ended.

In the meantime, the president of Serbia posted the points discussed at the Council on his Instagram account.

- 1. Preservation of peace and stability in the region; 2. Improving and increasing the level of security for our country and citizens; 3. Analyses and making concrete the actions regarding the procurement of raw materials and important goods that, due to a global crisis, could become in short supply. Serbia is on a safe path! - reads the post.

As a reminder, the president spoke about how much the events between Russia and Ukraine will affect Serbia, and stated earlier that our position is principled on that issue.

He also commented on the situation in Ukraine, but also on a statement made by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

"I would not like to make the position of Serbia worse. I consider Olaf Scholz to be a serious politician, but I am surprised by his statement that 'NATO intervened in 1999 (by attacking Serbia) to prevent genocide in Kosovo'. Unlike him, Angela Merkel called it a 'humanitarian catastrophe'. I never agreed with her either. There was neither genocide nor a humanitarian catastrophe in Kosovo and Metohija. It bothers them in the West that Putin is using all their weaknesses and the same arguments that NATO used during its aggression against the Serbians. When Kamala Harris says, 'do not touch national borders', then everyone wants to forget about Serbia. Everyone wants to forget how they robbed Serbians of their territories and changed the borders of Serbia," said Vucic and added that Serbia supports Ukraine's territorial integrity.

He said that he would ask Russia for additional information regarding the recruitment of Albanians from Kosovo and Metohija in order to wage war against Russians in Donbass.

"Lavrov presents completely well-verified information. The head of all Russian (intelligence) services, Patrushev, will come to Serbia in the next few days," Vucic told Tanjug.
