Xhafer Deva's family threatens to sue German ambassador: "Apologize for calling Deva a criminal"

  • 0

Xhafer Deva's family has sent an open letter to German Ambassador in Pristina Jorn Rohde, asking him to publicly apologize for a Twitter post, in which he expressed concern over the plans to renovate Deva's house, calling him "a known Nazi collaborator and a protagonist in the infamous SS Skanderbeg Division."

An open letter, published by Valdet Deva on Facebook, states that if the ambassador does not apologize, the family asks for a meeting with him where he would have the opportunity to present evidence of Deva's participation in the Holocaust.

In the letter, Valdet Deva, who describes himself as an Albanian and a member of Xhafer Deva's family, warns that the family and their lawyer will consider the possibility of a lawsuit against the ambassador.

The letter claims that the statement was influenced by "a third party" and assesses that it is a "very insulting, extremely slanderous statement."

Rohde recently wrote on Twitter that he was very concerned about the plans to restore Deva's house, considering that he was "a well known Nazi collaborator/protagonist in the infamous Skanderbeg SS division" and that the truth about the Holocaust and war crimes committed by the Nazis andtheir  local collaborators should not be distorted.
