A man who was beaten to death in the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, passing away shortly after being found unconscious yesterday morning in Kosovska Street in the center of Novi Sad was the well-known street musician, Kristijan Kostic Bleki, 61.

Kristijan also had his YouTube channel, where he posted a song by the Vojvodjanski Blues Band, "Neko Kao Ti" ("Someone Like You"). That video became the place where people are saying goodbye to him.

"I can't believe it! How many times I hung out with you since my student days... How could anyone even think of doing something like this? There is definitely no justice. Thank you for everything, may angels guard you," one emotional comment said.

"The night before, I was sitting on a bench and listening to you. Then the folk music started, and you looked at me, cursed, got up and left. I also wanted to come and listen to Pink Floyd last night," is another comment posted by the stunned citizens of Novi Sad.

They have been saying goodbye to the musician on other social networks as well, and stressing that he was a good man, who did nobody any harm.

"I knew Bleki, we were on the street together. When I was at my worst, Bleki was there for me. What kind of person does someone have to be to kill someone like Bleki?," a Facebook user wrote.

In the early morning hours, Kostic was walking down the street when he was noticed by the killer, who had been stopping other people before him, asking them for money. Security cameras footage shows that the killer came out of a bar and was trying to get some money. When he reached the unfortunate busker, he started beating him with his hands and feet. He broke the victim's skull and ribs.

A spokesman for the Emergency Service, Dr. Zoran Krulj, told Telegraf that a report arrived at around 5 am of an unconscious man lying in Kosovska Street. An ambulance crew was dispatched and treated the injured man on the spot, then transporting him to the Emergency Center where he was placed in intensive care. The man died after being admitted to that institution.

The suspect Z.R., 21, has been detained for up to 48 hours and will then be brought, along with a criminal complaint, before the Senior Public Prosecutor in Novi Sad.
