Serbian citizen found dead on a ship full of cocaine: His throat was slit
A Serbian citizen around 50 years old was found dead in the engine room of the ship MSC Adelaide, docked in the port of Genoa, on board of which the Italian police found more than 400 kilograms of cocaine.
It is not known whether the death of the Serbian citizen was in any way related to the large amount of drugs found on the ship, while allegedly some of his colleagues said that he was walking on the deck with a knife in his hand several hours before his body was found.
The ship on which the dead Serbian citizen was found was sailing under the flag of Panama, with 21 crew made up of different nationalities, who are currently being questioned by the police.
According to Italian media, the Serbian citizen was found with his throat slit.
This is allegedly a case of suicide, although the knife has not been found yet.
An autopsy has been ordered, the media reported.
According to the Italian police, the drugs that were found were hidden among coffee bags that arrived from Brazil.
It is estimated that the market value of the drugs is around 30 million euros.
