The football associations of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, members of Great Britain, together with the Republic of Ireland, announced today that they are entering the race to host EURO 2028, the European football championship.

At the same time, five FAs have withdrawn their bid to organize the 2030 World Cup.

According to British media, those competing to organize EURO 2028 will be Turkey, which has failed in this bid five times so far, as well as Serbia, Bulgaria, Greece and Romania jointly.

The deadline for submitting official applications is March 23, and the names of the candidates will be announced on April 5.

Serbian Minister of Sports and Youth Vanja Udovicic recently revealed in an interview for Telegraf that Greece is considering a candidacy for the 2030 World Cup, and it will also apply to host EURO 2028.

However, it will be necessary to know by March 23 what Greece's position is and whether Serbia remains a candidate for the European championship, as well as for the 2030 World Cup.

It would be easier to win the bid with the National Stadium, the construction of which should start soon.
