Novak continues breaking his own record, gets closer to Steffi Graf: Here's for how long he's safe in top spot

The best tennis player in the world, Novak Djokovic, continued to break his own record regarding the number of weeks spent at the top of the ATP list.

Djokovic started his 359th week today with 10,875 points, followed by Russian Daniil Medvedev (9,635) and German Alexander Zverev (7,865).

There was no change in the Top 10 this week. Stefanos Tsitsipas from Greece is fourth (7,145), while Spaniard Rafael Nadal is fifth with 6,875 points.

Also in the Top 10 are Matteo Berretrini (Italy), Andrei Rublev (Russia), Casper Ruud (Norway), Felix-Auger Aliassime (Canada) and Jannik Sinner (Italy).

Filip Krajinovic remained in the 36th place, just ahead of Dusan Lajovic, Laslo Djere spoiled his ranking by dropping seven places and is now at 56, while Miomir Kecmanovic is 64th.

What is perhaps even more interesting is that Novak continues to reduce the difference in relation to Steffi Graf, who is record holder in the world of tennis by the number of weeks spent in the number one spot, with 377 weeks.

Since Medvedev gave up on playing Rotterdam this week, he missed the opportunity to overtake Djokovic for at least a week. And since Novak is playing in Dubai, he has a chance to win that tournament, increase the difference compared to the Russian and be secure at least until March 20, when his ranking will largely depend on whether he will be allowed to play in Indian Wells and Miami during March.
