Ksenija Vicic, a prominent Serbian journalist and the first wife of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, will be laid to rest today at 1 pm at the New Cemetery in Belgrade.

This was announced yesterday by the editor-in-chief of the daily Informer and Ksenija's colleague Dragan J. Vucicevic.

Her colleague added that she died suddenly in her apartment and that her son Danilo was with her at the time.

"Ksenija worked here on Pink, we have knew each other for decades. A great persomn, a good friend, a devoted mother. Fate is cruel. Ksenija passed away suddenly yesterday afternoon, she died in her apartment, her son Danilo was with her and that is really frightnening. As soon as he heard about it, the president went to Ksenija Vucic's home. An ambulance arrived in 6-7 minutes, they tried resuscitation for an hour, but unfortunately there was no success. It's not known what the cause was, whether it a blood clot or heart failure," said Vucicevic.

Ksenija and Aleksandar Vucic had two children, son Danilo and daughter Milica, during their marriage that lasted from 1997 to 2011.

Ksenija Vucic worked for the magazine Srpska Res, for radio stations Fokus and Indeks, as well as on Studio B TV. She continued her career on Pink TV.

Her guests were many famous politicians, from Cedomir Jovanovic and Nenad Canak, to Edi Rama and Nikola Gruevski.

Prominent figures have been saying goodbye to Ksenija Vucic the last three days.
