Little hidden paradise on Mt. Tara: Lake Spajici is surrounded by woods and has captivating beauty
Just below the Lake Zaovine dam, surrounded by hills and forests, lies the Spajici reservoir, a lake recognizable by its turquoise, pristine water.
Spajici is formed from filtered water coming from Beli Rzav, Zmajevacka River and Popovica Stream.
It was precisely in this part of Zaovine that Josif Pancic discovered an endemic species of spruce, which was named after him.
Lake Spajici has a nicely maintained picnicking site, as well as a small beach.
Also, this location on Mt.Tara is a paradise for fishermen who can catch large chub in the waters of Lake Spajici. Fishing is allowed here only with lure and fly gear with hooks without the back hook.
Those making the trip who are not interested in fishing can enjoy the beautiful view of the lake and its surroundings, that is especially beautiful from spring until late fall.
