Brnabic: "As far as I'm concerned, Rio Tinto doesn't have to be in Serbia. Government decision soon"
Prime Minister of Serbia Ana Brnabic said on Monday that the government will soon make a decision on whether Rio Tinto will operate in Serbia.
A decision will be made, among other things, after consultations with President Aleksandar Vucic, said Brnabic.
"I don't think we should have a problem with that, we're not the ones who brought them to Serbia, we didn't give them anything. To be completely clear, we do not have any contract with Rio Tinto, we are not one of those who are against Rio Tinto today and block international roads, while they were the ones who brought Rio Tinto to Serbia," she said while replying to journalists in Novi Sad.
The prime minister noted that the company, as far as she was concerned, "does not have to be in Serbia" and added that she "has no problem saying that."
