Sot Lake - a gem of the Srem plain: Swans have chosen it as their home

In the western part of Mt. Gruska, near the town of Sid and the settlement of Sot, is a lake named after it - one of the favorite places for excursions in Serbia.

It was created in the late 1970s and in a part of the Fruska Gora National Park.

From spring until late fall Lake Sot (Sotsko Jezero) is a favorite destination for weekenders, fishers and recreationists. Many find respite from high temperatures on the shores of Lake Sot during summer months.

The lake is surrounded by oak forests and is recognizable by a large number of willows that complete the picturesque landscape.

This water gem in the vast Srem plain is ideal for a family trip, because the facilities at the lake are suited to all generations.

Near the beach there is the Smurf village made of wooden barrels and painted with the motifs from the cartoon that generations of children grew up with.

However, what undeniably captivates is the beauty of the nature that surrounds Lake Sot.
