Serbia's leadership wishes merry Christmas to those celebrating according to Gregorian calendar
I want the spirit of Christmas to be an incentive in the next year as well to, true to our tradition, act in unison and together for the progress of Serbia - said the president's message.
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic sent Christmas greetings to the Catholic Archbishop of Belgrade and Metropolitan Stanislav Hocevar, and to all Christian believers who celebrate Christmas according to the Gregorian calendar. Serbia's majority Orthodox Christians will celebrate the holiday on January 8.
"I want the spirit of Christmas to be an incentive in the next year as well to, true to our tradition, act in unison and together for the progress of Serbia. In the years behind us as well, we have confirmed our determination to provide a decisive answer to all the challenges facing our country, for the benefit of all our citizens," said Vucic.
"By wishing you a merry Christmas, I want to assure you that you will always have a reliable and loyal partner in the Republic of Serbia and its state bodies. Merry Christmas! Happy New Year 2022," said President Vucic's message.
"Tolerance is foundation of society"
Prime Minister Ana Brnabic also congratulated Christmas to Archbishop of Belgrade Stanislav Hocevar and the beleivers who celebrate this great Christian holiday according to the Gregorian calendar.
"Difficult moments that we overcame together are behinds us. I sincerely believe that we all succeeded in that together, because solidarity, empathy and tolerance are the foundation of our society," stated Brnabic.
She wished the clergy, the monastic community and believers who celebrate the happiest Christian holiday of Christ's birth according to the Gregorian calendar, to spend it in peace and joy with their loved ones.
"May Christmas bring you spiritual peace, health and progress in all areas of life. Merry Christmas," said Prime Minister Brnabic.
