Belgrade Waterfront company buys plot next to the Hippodrome: They reveal to us what they plan to do

The company Belgrade Waterfront is the new owner of a plot of land in Radnicka Street where Jugopetrol fuel silos had been located until recently. This company was the only bidder in a public tender. The land went for the the starting price of 3.178 billion dinars.

Mohamed Alabbar, president of Eagle Hills, which is the majority partner in Belgrade Waterfront, told Telegraf Biznis that they plan a project there that offer an exceptional environment for everyone.

"It's a great honor for us to have the opportunity to continue to build and enrich the lives of Belgraders, but also of all visitors to the Serbian capital. Belgrade Waterfront has brought new standards to the region. With each new project, we push the boundaries, introduce innovations and create a new, exceptional environment for all citizens. We have shown that we are good, but we want to be even better in everything we do. We believe that the new acquisition will enable us to show that we can continue to raise standards and create even better ones. Everything we create, we build with great passion and dedication, from the heart and with the desire to make citizens proud of Belgrade and Serbia," said Alabbar.

The said piece of land is 55,169 square meters large and is located in the immediate vicinity of the sports and recreational center Ada Ciganlija, the Hippodrome and the cultural-historical and tourist unit Topcider. According to the planning document, the locationis zoned as commercial, and as city center.

Cultural and sporting facilities and complexes are allowed to be built there.

Existing facilities of special interest for the public service that protects cultural monuments are an observation tower, a residential house and a chimney of a former heating plant. These facilities are kept in their existing size and volume, without the possibility of changing their appearance or upgrading them, while restoration, rehabilitation and revitalization is allowed.
