We asked Arabs from Oman how they see Serbia: "We feel at home"
The Serbian Pavilion at EXPO Dubai attracts the attention of companies and delegations from other countries. We met several members of a delegation from Oman who did not hide their enthusiasm for the innovations they saw.
Speaking for Telegraf Biznis, they stressed that Serbia is a good place to invest, which they will certainly consider.
Mahmood Alyazidi from Oman told our portal that he did not want to miss B2B meetings.
"The Serbian Pavilion is very nice, the design in particular. People are good, friendly and we feel at home. That is specific about Serbia," he tells us.
For him personally, the design of the pavilion is unusual and interesting, and that is what representatives of his delegation were especially interested in:
"It is modern, unique, looks futuristic and stands out," he said.
They point out that they have met a lot of people from Serbia, as well as representatives of certain companies, and that they plan to visit Serbia.
"Serbia should be invested in. Serbia is a safe place and safe for investment," he said.
Asked what was the best thing that represents Serbia and based on which they conclude that Serbia is a good destination for life and investment, he added:
"Definitely the people. They are the best advertisement."
Students from Arab countries are especially interested in Serbia and majoring in fields such as defense industry, because for political reasons, they cannot study in other European countries.
Otherwise, international companies and scientific and educational institutions from 11 countries, including India, Malaysia, and Spain were at B2B meetings at the Serbian Pavilion when they expressed interest in partnerships with Serbian institutions and companies, whose innovations contribute to improving learning and modern skills of students.
Ilhami Sisnelioglu from the international company K12net, which develops software for education, says that they are looking for partners in Serbia and want cooperation with schools and universities in our country. Jesmond Friggieri, the founder and director of the MLI institute in Malta, invited Serbian faculties to contact his institute.
Aleksandar Sedmak from the Innovation Center of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade says that the Center has made significant contacts with representatives of our diaspora in the UAE and international institutions and says that EXPO is a great opportunity for Serbian companies to present themselves because, he says, "the American dream" now lives in Dubai.
Representatives of 60 companies, universities, science and technology parks and institutes from Serbia and more than 40 representatives of companies and universities from 11 countries participating in Expo 2020 Dubai took part in the B2B talks.
Within the organized business program implemented by the Government of Serbia in cooperation with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and the Serbian Development Agency, 194 companies and nearly 500 businesspeople from Serbia had presentations in Dubai so far, making more than 3,000 business contacts with potential partners from abroad. Many deals have been started, more than 10 secure contracts have been realized in the first three thematic weeks, and numerous opportunities have been created.
