In 20 years, USAID invested 882 million dollars in Serbia
On the occasion of the 20 years of cooperation between the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Serbia, an exhibition entitled "Twenty Years of Partnership/We Create Together" was opened last night at the Yugoslav Cinematheque venue in Belgrade.
Some of the partnerships from the past two decades were showcased with photographs and videos.
The opening ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, Serbian National Assembly President Ivica Dacic, while the hosts were US Ambassador to Serbia Anthony Godfrey and USAID Mission Director Susan Fritz.
It was said that USAID invested 882 million dollars in Serbia, intended for economic and democratic development of our country, and as announced, that cooperation will continue in the future.
Prime Minister Ana Brnabic pointed out that USAID is a partner, not only of the Government of Serbia, but also of businesspeople and companies.
US Ambassador Anthony Godfrey said that the support provided by USAID to small businesses ranges from providing equipment and technology, to helping improve their products, better connect and conquer domestic and foreign markets.
Director of USAID in Serbia Susan Fritz stressed that Serbia has proven to be a strong development partner and that the plan is to continue cooperation in the next five years on the basis set together.
