7 reasons presented in Dubai to invest in Serbia, Arabs asked for meetings after only a few minutes

Just a few minutes after an  investment conference was presented by Serbia in Dubai, the first meetings with potential investors who listened to the presentation had already begun, Telegraf Biznis has learned.

As has been confirmed for our portal, these are representatives of companies from Arab countries.

Marko Selakovic, head of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) office in Dubai and B2B director for Dubai Expo 2020, told Telegraf Biznis that he was extremely satisfied with the second investment conference, and that there are several reasons for that.

"We had visitors at the investment conference, that is, participants, who came from the UAE and other Gulf countries, but also participants from Southeast Asia, from Europe... All in all, I am pleased that Serbia is more and more becoming a globally attractive investment destination," Selakovic told us at the Serbian pavilion in Dubai.

Today, the Development Agency of Serbia presented the basic reasons for investing in Serbia. Seven have been listed.

All seven are equally important, our interlocutor notes, because the presentations given by business entities and the presentation of the city of Kragujevac contributed to a clearer picture of how desirable Serbia is and how important it is as an investment destination.

"After all, as you have noticed, we already have the first meetings. I hope that this will result in new cooperation, new partnerships, and finally the signing of agreements that will lead to new investments in Serbia," he said.

He confirmed to us that these are extremely large companies, which have a long tradition of doing business, and operate very successfully in this region.

The meetings concerned different sectors, so it is clearer that investment opportunities are huge.

Automotive, chemical and transport industries as great opportunities

Specifically, the Development Agency of Serbia (RAS) and the entire operational team set up to organize Serbia's participation at Expo Dubai 2020 at the Serbian Pavilion organized an investment conference that presented investment opportunities in the automotive sector with a focus on electric mobility, chemical and rail industries.

The growing trend of investing in sustainable transport, e-mobility and new technologies in manufacturing in the transport sector are an opportunity for Serbia to position itself as an industrial leader in this part of Europe, and Expo Dubai is the right place to approach investors in these three sectors and establish contacts for new investments.

The investment conference dedicated to industries is being held during the Expo's thematic week, "Knowledge and Learning," and in that spirit, the conference was opened by Serbia's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development Branko Ruzic.

Participants and speakers were advisors from RAS who presented the reasons and opportunities for investing in e-mobility and transport projects and the chemical industry sector in Serbia, along with Mayor of Kragujevac Nikola Dasic and representatives of renowned companies from transport and chemical sectors.

The increasingly popular topic of e-mobility and global aspirations towards sustainable development and reduction of harmful gas emissions are closely related to the automotive and rail industries, which represent what we call sustainable transport. The growing trend of investing in e-mobility and new technologies in the transport manufacturing sector are an area in which Serbia can position itself as an industrial leader in this part of Europe.

On the other hand, the chemical industry that has a long tradition is another segment that opens a lot of space for investment, and has a role in striving towards sustainable and green development both within the production processes of the sector and as support to other industries.

Investments in innovations in industries and e-mobility bring with them improvement of education and science, cooperation of private technologically advanced companies with the educational system and institutions in Serbia, which means creation of a technologically advanced and economically successful society.

Serbia's investment conferences within the Expo 2020 Dubai event are part of the overall presentation of our country and an integral part of the business component of Serbia's appearance there, which includes a large number of activities, B2B meetings and events, as well as business forums. This is the second conference in a row, while three more investment events are expected by the end of the Expo.
