Mural dedicated to Ratko Mladic completely restored, it is now guarded by unknown persons
A mural depicting Ratko Mladic, painted on the corner of Njegoseva and Alekse Nenadovica streets in Belgrade this summer, to then be painted over several times, has been restored.
A video shows that the mural has been restored to its original condition, and several individuals guarding it.
Earlier, the City Municipality of Vracar officially announced that what it referred to as graffiti had been painted over.
"We are informing the public that the pictorial graffiti on a building in Njegoseva Street has been removed. The Department for Inspection Affairs of the City Municipality of Vracar stated today that the decision to remove the pictorial graffiti from the front part of the facade of this building was made on September 20," a statement said.
Clashes broke out on November 9 in Belgrade because of the Ratko Mladic mural, when the police detained human rights activist Aida Corovic after she threw a few eggs at the wall. She was quickly released.
The next day, after these protests, lime was splattered onto the mural.
