Grief for girl from Basaid who died in traffic accident: "She was sociable and full of life"

16-year-old L.D. from Basaid was killed in a serious traffic accident that happened on Tuesday night on the road between Melenac and Kumane, when the driver of a BMW lost control of the vehicle in a sharp curve and landed off the road.

She died in the hospital in Zrenjanin, after five young people, the driver and four passengers, were admitted to this institution, Gradski Online writes.

The Zrenjanin police conducted an investigation, and all the circumstances that led to the latest tragedy on the Banat roads are being determined. There is silence and disbelief in the family home of the teenager. Goran Badjok, the stepfather of the firl, still doesn't know what exactly happened.

"The car entered the curve at some speed, I don't know which. Then they tumbled. I know that she died in the Zrenjanin hospital. I have two underage daughters and a son with her mother. I accepted her as my own. She was not even a year old," says Goran and adds:

"She left the house saying that she was going to her friend's for coffee. She was sociable, full of life. She went to high school in Zrenjanin and commuted every day. The wife cannot speak."

He, as well as his brother Milivoj Badjok, confirmed that they had seen a girl who survived the accident and her mother earlier in the day. There are mixed feelings and immense grief for the victim in their home.

The mother of 16-year-old Z.J. was unable to speak. With her permission, the girl said what happened on the fateful night.

"There were three young men from Melenac and two of us in the vehicle. Previously they came to me for coffee. L.D. and I just accepted their invitation to take a ride. One of the guys, the co-driver in the BMW, suggested that we go to Kumane to see his girlfriend. I was sitting in the middle, and to my right was L D. The accident happened when the car landed off the road in a curve and started to turn over. The young man from Melenac, who was in the passenger seat, called his father, and he called the police and an ambulance. We were all transferred to the Zrenjanin hospital. The two of us were friends since we were little. We went to primary school together," Z.J. said of the girl who passed away.
