Truck driver after horrible collision with bus near Umka: I was pulling passengers out the window

The front of a bus that overturned near Umka, Belgrade after a collision with a truck was crushed and destroyed, so it's really lucky that the consequences are not even more serious. Photos taken by a Telegraf reporter show how dangerous the accident actually was.

"I don't know the reason for the crash, I think the bus went a little farther to my side, they claim it's me, the investigation will determine. Here you drive 60 kilometers per hour, I went 50 and a bit. I was pulling people out of the window," the truck driver told Telegraf.rs.

The extent of the damage done can be seen in the pictures from the scene. The rear-view mirror fell behind the driver's seat due to the force of the impact, the windshield cracked, the bus mask was torn off, there are no headlights.

As we have learned unofficially, the truck was traveling from Belgrade to Obrenovac when its trailer skidded and hit the bus.

Ten people were lightly injured in the collision between the truck and the bus on the public transport line on Obrenovac Road between Umka and Baric. The bus belongs to the private carrier Strela Ub and was operating on Line 860 from Obrenovac to Savski Square.

The traffic accident on the road near Umka, in the direction of Belgrade, happened this morning around half past 10.

Police and ambulance crews arrived at the scene of the accident. Traffic was interrupted on this part of the Obrenovac-Belgrade road.

Columns of cars formed in both directions, and traffic was at a standstill.
