Details of tragedy near Loznica: Mother finds her child hanged, cries echo through village

A 12-year-old boy from Donji Dobric, near Loznica, hanged himself last night in the unfinished attic of the family home.

The boy returned from school and his mother sent him to go and bring her something from the attic, Novosti writes.

"He went to do what I told him, as usual, without a word, and when I realized that he was gone for a long time, I went after him and found a horrible scene - my son was hanging from a rope," said the boy's mother.

"A horrible sight. May God not do that to any mother! It seemed to me that my heart would jump out," said the distressed woman.

Neighbors called an ambulance from the Health Center in Loznica, which arrived quickly. Doctors were trying to resuscitate the boy for more than half an hour, but it turned out, unfortunately, that he could not be saved.

Less than a year ago, the 9-year-old brother of the deceased boy disappeared. For almost two days, the whole village and many police patrols searched for him, and he was found sleeping in a stack of hay next to the house. The parents had five children and earn a living as day laborers.

The brother of the boy who was found hanged, according to his parents, said that other children teased him at school, and told his mother that he was scared after the teacher said that his parents should come to school, and that this may have been be the reason why he was hiding.

Father Boban said at the time that he did not know exactly what actually happened.

According to neighbors, the children are hard working. It was not fully clarified why the 9-year-old boy from this house went into hiding, and now a tragedy has occured.
