Dacic on condition of honorary SPS president Mrkonjic: It's fairly difficult, we're all worried
The president of the National Assembly and the leader of the Socialists (SPS), Ivica Dacic, says that the situation of the former government minister, and honorary president of the SPS, Milutin Mrkonjic (79), is still quite difficult.
"It's fairly difficult. Until two days ago, it was very critical. I think I really should thank all the doctors," Dacic told the morning program of Kurir TV and added that Mrkonjic is not able to speak.
Dacic said that the doctors are doing their best.
"I spoke with doctor (Milovan) Bojic. Mrkonjic is their old patient. He recently had surgery. There are some things he didn't want to do earlier because he thought he had time. Now those things are getting more complicated. Doctors are doing their best. We are all worried and all that remains is to pray to God for his health. We hope that he will win," said Dacic.
The leader of the Socialists stressed that Mrkonjic is a man of great reputation.
"People are not used to him being sick. It doesn't go with him," said Dacic.
Milutin Mrkonjic, a former MP and honorary president of the Socialists, has been in a difficult health situation for days. Mrkonjic is in intensive care and connected to a ventilator.
The Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases Dedinje announced yesterday that Mrkonjic was hospitalized there due to severe heart problems.
