New measures of the government in Pristina affect import of cookies and candies from Serbia
On Thursday, Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade Rosetta Hajdari announced new measures against some products imported from Serbia, reports Koha.
Hajdari told a conference said that the goal was to protect domestic producers and added that these were confectionery products.
"There has been an enormous increase in products imported to the territory of Kosovo and that damages domestic producers. In conclusion, as they said in the trade department, it has been shown that there has been an increase of imports from Serbia, unlike last year. Kosovo's exports are only 1 percent in 2020 and 2021. We will take measures against confectionery products such as cookies and candies produced by Serbia, because these products saw an enormous increase in imports. We will look at the evidence and then decide on the measures," she said.
