What TV cameras didn't show: Furious Ronaldo again tosses away captain's band after defeat to Serbia
Serbia does not suit Cristiano Ronaldo! This was evident in the decisive World Cup qualifier in Lisbon on Sunday, where he was "missing" from the game. Portugal's best player and captain was "locked" and did not create a single chance, nor shoot towards the goal.
Add to this his temper tantrum at the end of the first qualifying group match in Belgrade, when his goal was annulled and he angrily threw the armband and fled into the tunnel while the game was still played - and it's clear that the two games against Serbia are the stuff of nightmares for him.
Ronaldo's gesture in Belgrade, when he angrily threw away the captain's band and went into the tunnel, was captured on TV cameras and went around the world. The armband itself wound up in a humanitarian auction and was sold for an incredible 7,500,010 dinars.
But what makes things interesting now is that Ronaldo repeated similar behavior in Lisbon, again the band ended up thrown on the grass in a fit of rage, as he lamented Portugal's defeat at the hands of Serbia in tears.
Ronaldo was at that moment approached by Serbia's Nemanja Radonjic, who extended tried to comfort him. However, the video that official cameras did not catch but has appeared on social networks shows that this was not a great consolation to Ronaldo.
