Novi Sad actor dies on a bench, from hypothermia: He lived on the street

Nebojsa Petrovic, an actor, poet and musician from Novi Sad, passed away yesterday as a result of hypothermia, on a bench in Novi Sad, the Facebook page "Kitchen of Solidarity NS" ("Kuhinja solidarnosti NS") has announced.

In recent years, Petrovic lived on the streets. He passed away from hypothermia, on a bench in the center of Novi Sad, on Trifkovic Square, where he often shared meals from the soup kitchen with other hungry fellow citizens.

"Winter is coming, and many of our fellow citizens do not have a roof over their heads, so we are making an appeal to the competent city institutions to provide adequate conditions for the survival of people living on the streets. We also call on all citizens of Novi Sad to show understanding and solidarity with the most vulnerable members of the community and to fight for a more just society," the announcement reads.
