Ratko Mladic mural destroyed again, this time with black paint: A group of youths clean it up again
A mural dedicated to Ratko Mladic in Njegoseva Street in Belgrade has been defaced for the second time, this time black paint was thrown at it. It is not known who threw the paint this time.
Soon after, a group of young men arrived in Njegoseva Street and cleaned up the mural, just like the first time.
Human rights activist Aida Corovic was detained after she threw a few eggs at the mural last week, while a day later Djordjo Zujovic from the Social Democratic Party of Serbia threw lime at the mural.
On Saturday, a protest dubbed "The mural must go" was held in Cvetni Trg in Belgrade, organized by several civil society organizations. Civic activists gathered in the square, as well as a group of right-wingers, with the police positioned between them. However, the planned walk from the square to Njegoseva Street was canceled due to security reasons.
