Serbian ambassador to US visits country that was first to revoke its recognition of so-called Kosovo
Serbian Ambassador to the United States Marko Djuric will pay a working visit to the Republic of Suriname, where he will meet with top officials of that South American country, which was the first in the world to withdraw the decision to recognize Kosovo in October 2017.
During his stay in Paramaribo, Ambassador Djuric will present his credentials to President Chandrikapersad Santokhi, and will have a separate meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Albert Ramdin, the Serbian Embassy in Washington announced, Tanjug is reporting.
Djuric's visit to Suriname is the first by a Serbian official since the change of government in that country.
Serbia and Suriname have nurtured friendly relations since the establishment of the Non-Aligned Movement, and in addition to the bilateral plan, they are also cooperating within the Organization of American States and the Association of Caribbean States.
