The highest number of first doses of coronavirus vaccines since June were administrated on Monday in Serbia. A day earlier, President of the Republic Aleksandar Vucic received his third dose.

Namely, 6,535 first doses were received yesterday, the most since June 14.

This is 50% more for Mondays, but also the average for working days last week.

After receiving the third dose of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine, President Vucic addressed citizens and once again thanked all medical workers who are participating in this big and difficult job.

"This has been going on for a year now, I am talking about vaccination, no one is asking those people who have borne the greatest burden how they are."

The president then pleaded with people to get vaccinated.

"I didn't even feel the sting of the needle this third time. I only checked for antibodies once, but I went to Brus where 6,000-7,000 people greeted me and I didn't get infected. And if I did, it's quite certain that I would have survived."

"We owe these doctors the biggest debt of gratitude, they risk their lives for ours. We must give them some kind of benefits, either through salary or through enhanced years of service as a sign of gratitude for everything they have done so far," the president said.
