"If measures don't produce results, Serbian government will not hesitate to introduce new ones"

The government this morning adopted a new decree on the application of Covid passes. As previously announced, they will be required from 8 pm starting tonight, as their application has been extended, in addition to hospitality establishments, to betting parlors, casinos, slot clubs and other facilities where games of chance are organized. By the same decree, the working hours of these facilities are no longer limited.

This means that after 8 pm it will not be possible to stay in these facilities without a Covid pass, and if a hospitality establishment or a betting parlor works around the clock, entry without a Covid pass will only be possible from 6 am the next day.

Covid certificates are actually digital green certificates, which every citizen receives when they get vaccinated against coronavirus or when they receive the results of a Covid test. The digital green certificate can be obtained by e-mail address via eGovernment, which is more convenient, and it can also be obtained at the nearest branch office of the Post of Serbia.

What will allow you to enter a restaurant, a casino or a betting parlor after 8 pm in the coming period is a digital green certificate that contains at least one of the following:

- Evidence of receiving the second or third dose of the vaccine against the infectious disease COVID-19, which confirms that the vaccination is not older than 210 days,

- Negative PCR test not older than 72 hours,

- Negative antigen test not older than 48 hours,

- Evidence of recovering from Covid in the previous 7 months, which is confirmed by a positive PCR or antigen test,

- Positive test for antibodies (IgG), not older than three months, done in a state laboratory.

Each of these is already in the green certificate of all citizens and with each change (a new dose of vaccine, testing or getting Covid) it is automatically updated with new data. Digital green certificate can be on your phone or printed on paper and it is checked by scanning a unique QR code.

The goal of introducing the Covid certificate is exclusively to protect the health of all residents of the Republic of Serbia, and not to fine citizens. Therefore, the Government of Serbia hopes that tonight, citizens and businesspeople will behave responsibly, considering that controlling the adherence to this measure will be additionally strengthened from tonight.

The Government of the Republic of Serbia hopes that the vaccination rate in our country will increase further, considering that mass vaccination is the only way to overcome the coronavirus pandemic.

If these measures do not yield results, the Government will not hesitate to strengthen the existing ones and introduce new epidemiological measures.

Four types of vaccines are available in the Republic of Serbia - the Chinese Sinopharm, the Russian Sputnik V, as well as vaccines manufactured by Pfizer and AstraZeneca. Starting tomorrow, the Moderna vaccine will also be available in our country, which is already being distributed at vaccination points. Vaccination is possible at all vaccination points and in healthcare centers every day, including weekends.
