Very ugly scenes, extremely unpleasant, were seen after the Europa League match between Red Star (Crvena Zvezda) and Midtjylland last night in Belgrade, caused by dissatisfied home fans.

Red Star supporters from the North Stand wanted to show all their anger over the impotence and defeat of their team (0-1) and direct it toward Hungarian referee Tamas Bognar, throwing an entire barrage of hard objects towards the tunnel, where Red Star fitness coach Federico Pannoncini happened to be at the time.

The Italian was unlucky, he fared the worst in the chaos. He was hit in the middle of the head and almost fell to the ground, so the club doctor, goalkeeper Milan Borjan, and assistants Petar Petrovic and Miodrag Mladenovic came to his aid.

All four held up Pannoncini, who was in a state of shock and had a cracked skulls, so that he could be taken care of very quickly and put in an ambulance, which took him to the Emergency Center, where, as we have learned, he spent the night. Head coach Stankovic was with him all the time and because of this incident he missed the post match press conference, although the club did not want to specify the reasons for his absence from the media center.

Photos showing an alarmed Borjan and the worried members of the staff holding Pannoncini at the entrance to the tunnel holding, speak to the seriousness of the situation due to which Red Star, there is no doubt, will once again be punished by UEFA.

Borjan intervened again a little later to make sure that the players of the visiting team passed safely towards the tunnel.

"I think he did something amazing. He helped players who found themselves in a difficult situation. He is a gentleman, after the game he came to our dressing room, said it was football, that things like this happen and that he was sorry because of the situation. That's a real captain," said Midtjylland captain Erik Sviatchenko, while head coach Bo Henriksen said that Borjan made a great move and that the players of the Danish team praised him in the dressing room.
