It's revealed when gas supply to Serbia will stabilize: An amount has been imported from Hungary
Bulgarian gas network operator Bulgartransgaz said it had cut off natural gas supplies to Serbia and Hungary after a pipeline burst near the northeastern village of Vetrino.
Reacting to this, Serbia's natural gas public enterprise Srbijagas announced that it had imported 5 million cubic meters of gas from Hungary because of the accident on the gas pipeline in Bulgaria.
It is expected that all gas supply systems in Serbia will be stabilized by 4 pm, it is added.
Radio Bulgaria reported that on November 1, at 3 am, a pipe burst on the old part of the Bulgartransgaz gas pipeline in the area of the village of Vetrino, in the direction of Romania. The transport of natural gas to Romania was automatically suspended at 3:15 am, while deliveries to Serbia and Hungary were suspended at 7 am.
"Srbijagas has provided emergency quantities of gas from Hungary with emergency imports of five million cubic meters. And together with what we have in Banatski Dvor (storage unit), we will return the system completely to normal parameters for all consumers, both households and the industry," said the company's general director, Dusan Bajatovic.
He added that Srbijagas will be also able to intervene tomorrow if necessary, since there is no exact information yet about when the repair of the gas system in Bulgaria will be completed.
