Veselin Jevrosimovic, president and owner of Comtrade Group, gave an interview to The Sunday Times on October 24 - a part of the iconic British newspaper The Times.

The importance of The Times is clear not only in the fact that its printed edition resists modern times, but also that the newspaper dates back to 1785, although it was then published under the name "The Daily Universal Register." The current name came in 1788 and has been retained to this day.

One of the most successful business people from this region, especially when it comes to the IT sector and new technologies, spoke to British newspaper about the development path of Comtrade Group, which is globally recognized as a successful IT company.

The company's headquarters are in Belgrade, although in the more than 30 years that Comtrade has been growing, Jevrosimovic managed to build a global system that today employs more than 4,000 people on three continents.

The main reason for this interview is the expansion of the data protection and AI - artificial intelligence business, as well as the opening of a new office in Ireland. Comtrade is otherwise spread all over the world, in more than 50 companies.

The company's presence in the Irish market so far has been based on software solutions in the fields of banking, travel and transport, as well as medicine, and this time - Comtrade decided to open a new Comtrade 360 office, which will specialize in data protection and artificial intelligence ( data management/data backup and recovery; cyber security using AI tools).

Comtrade 360, as one of the companies in Comtrade Group, has chosen Dublin as its headquarters, where it plans to employ several hundred engineers. Comtrade360 also has offices in Boston and Ljubljana, as well as several development centers throughout Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia.

Jevrosimovic stressed that the Irish market has proven to be very innovative, oriented towards accepting and developing new technologies, as well as that it has a well-developed global position in the IT market. Consequently, it is not a dilemma why this particular decision has been made.

Also, as the head of Comtrade pointed out for The Sunday Times, the company did not come to Ireland because of tax breaks.

Taking into account the successful business in the Irish market and the possibilities provided that market, the company decided to open a new office, with a special focus on data management and protection, and artificial intelligence - a direction that almost all successful global tech companies follow today.

According to current data, the data protection market was worth about $14.9 billion in 2020, and by 2026 it should reach the value of as much as 38.23 billion, which is more than double and speaks sufficiently to the potential of that business. It is especially important nowadays, when the whole society is rapidly moving towards comprehensive digitization.

At the same time, AI is successfully and increasingly finding its place in modern society, and it is based on machines. By definition, it is about studying devices that can observe and analyze their environment, and on that basis, with a specific degree of autonomy, make decisions in order to achieve the given goals.
