Dr. Tiodorovic: The effect of Covid passes is already visible

Epidemiologist prof. Dr. Branislav Tiodorovic has told RTS that the effect of Covid passes can already be seen in one important parameter.

In the past three days, since Covid passes were introduced, there has been an increased response to vaccination with the first dose, among the currently most critical group - young people.

"Covid passes were not created because of that, but they are an integral part of the idea to create an atmosphere of motivation for vaccination. We have data from healthcare centers that there have been two or three times more vaccinations in the past few days, that there is a significant number of those who have received the first dose. These are younger people to whom it has become clear that what is used in the most successful countries in Europe works in Serbia as well," said Tiodorovic.

"Only with vaccination will we have a controlled impact on the pandemic and return to a more normal life," said this member of the Crisis HQ.

A number of people are protesting against Covid passes, which is why his colleague Dr. Predrag Kon experienced threats and insults, while Professor Tiodorovic found an unpleasant scene in front of his own window.

"I'm in my own town. With my fellow citizens, neighbors, people who can always tell me what they think. I am surprised by the attitude of that minority, people have the right to disagree, but the place to protest is somewhere else. I remind you, during big demonstrations in moments of turmoil, no one ever had people come under their window, in front of their house, for me that is horrible. But I have to protect my family with all possible measures," he said.
