3 children battling Covid on ventilators and fighting for their lives: Their condition is unchanged

The health condition of a baby and two teenagers aged 15 and 17, who have Covid and are on oxygen at the Institute for Mother and Child Dr. Vukan Cupic in Belgrade, remains the same.

Deputy Director of the Institute Professor Dr. Vladislav Vukomanovic, a pediatric cardiologist, told our portal that the children are still on ventilators.

"Their condition is unchanged," Vukomanovic said for Telegraf.rs.

That these three children were on ventilators was revealed last week by pulmonologist Professor Dr. Predrag Minic.

"Unfortunately, we have a six-month-old baby and children aged 15 and 17 on ventilators, their lives are in danger. With the exception of the 17-year-old boy, who is somewhat obese, the others do not have any comorbidities, i.e. other diseases. And that is proof that the situation is really dramatic," Minic said and added that the teenagers have not been vaccinated.

These are the first children treated at this institution that had to be put on ventilators.
