Condition of Serb after surgery revealed: Another hospitalized, 10 injured in Kosovo and Metohija
Ten men were injured during today's unrest in the north of Kosovo, two of whom have been hospitalized, the director of Clinical Hospital Center (KBC) Kosovska Mitrovica Zlatan Elek has told Telegraf.rs, adding that Srecko Sofronijevic, 36, had survery and was on Wednesday afternoon in "stable condition."
As the director of this health institution told us, the injured 36-year-old is in intensive care and under 24-hour supervision.
"He has serious wounds, he was shot in the back from a firearm, we don't know what caliber. He has an injury to the right shoulder blade, a fracture of the second right rib and injuries to the blood vessels in the neck. The bullet almost exited his body through the front of the neck. He underwent urgent surgery, the bleeding was stopped, the bullet was removed and he is now in the intensive care unit. I can say that he is currently in stable health condition, but will be under constant, 24-hour supervision by KBC Kosovska Mitrovica's best doctors," Elek told our portal.
According to him, a total of ten people were injured during today's unrest.
"We have ten injured, eight of whom haven't been hospitalized. They were hurt by rubber bullets, tear gas, stun grenades," he said.
Another person who has been admitted to the hospital was being diagnosed.
"That other person has a blunt force injury, inflicted either with a rifle butt or a boot, we have not yet received accurate information. He is undergoing checks and will be placed in the surgery ward of the KBC," Elek told us.
As the doctor specified, all the injured persons are males.
