Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija at crossings for 12 days: Rosu expected to withdraw from Jarinje
Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija are at administrative crossings for the 12th day, after Pristina banned cars with Serbian license plates from entering the province.
A compromise solution for the situation in Kosovo and Metohija was reached in Brussels yesterday, and it is expected that special units of the Kosovo police, Rosu, will withdraw from Jarinje and Brnjak and that the barricades will be removed.
Rosu units should leave the administrative crossings tomorrow between 8 am and 4 pm.
KFOR will deploy its forces at Jarinje and Brnjak before the implementation of the agreement, and will stay there for about two weeks in order to maintain security of the environment and freedom of movement.
The Serbs welcomed the news with relief, but remained in their positions, RTS reports. They say that it is becoming increasingly difficult to be at the barricades, considering that the protests have been ongoing for almost two weeks, and weather conditions are deteriorating.
Starting October 4, a regime with "stickers" will be established at the administrative crossings for vehicles until a final solution regarding license plates.
