"A great artist and an exceptional man. Rest in peace, my friend": Vucic says goodbye to Tasovac
Former Minister of Culture and director of the Belgrade Philharmonic, Ivan Tasovac, suddenly passed away last night at the age of 55.
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic reacted to his death.
"I was extremely affected by the news of the sudden death of Ivan Tasovac, a great pianist and artist, and above all an exceptional man, a sincere friend and comrade-in-arms. Ivan dedicated his life to the greatest human values - art and the love of the fatherland, which he expressed in his sophisticated and unique way with music, inexhaustible energy and creativity, for which he will be remembered in the highest artistic and intellectual circles.
A relentless fighter for sophistication against profanity, for meaning in superficiality, Ivan left the deepest mark on the artistic scene, but also in the hearts of all of us who had the honor of knowing him. Rest in peace, my friend, and we will continue the fight for an even better and stronger Serbia, that you also lived for," the president wrote.
Ivan Tasovac (55), the director of the Belgrade Philharmonic, passed away last night in his home in Belgrade at around 9 pm, after he was suddenly taken ill.
