Drecun: KFOR should behave as a factor of stability
President of the Serbian National Assembly Committee on Kosovo and Metohija Milovan Drecun has confirmed that a meeting has been held between KFOR and the Pristina self-government yesterday, and that it was offered for KFOR to replace Rosu at checkpoints in northern Kosovo, but that it is not known if that was accepted.
"KFOR was also present on September 20 then we got a destabilization of the situation, if they are a factor of stability, they must not allow that," Drecun said for RTS.
He added that KFOR and EULEX knew that Prime Minister of the Provisional Institutions of Pristina Albin Kurti would send special police units to the north of Kosovo and Metohija, and did not oppose it.
"If KFOR wants to be a factor of stability, let it act that as one. I'm afraid that KFOR showing up may be caused by our activities in central Serbia, to demonstrate their presence, that they are there and monitor the situation," Drecun added.
He recalled that members of the special police harassed Serbs unnecessarily several times, and KFOR was not there (at administrative crossings).
Drecun believes that political action is the most important in order for Pristina to be forced to withdraw special forces from the north of the province.
