M.S., an employee of Serbia's Security Information Agency (BIA) was attacked on Wednesday night in Zvezdara, Belgrade, while he was on duty. The police soon arrested the attacker, I.A. and held him on the order of the First Basic Public Prosecutor's Office.

The suspects I.A. will be questioned in the prosecutor's office today on suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of attacking an official person while they were performing official duties, the prosecutor's office told Tanjug.

The BIA employee, it is now believed, suffered minor injuries during the attack, which will only be confirmed by an expert opinion, and if it turns out that these are serious injuries, the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office will take over the jurisdiction in this case.

I.A. is suspected that he on September 22, at around 10:30 pm, in Jovanke Radakovic Street in Zvezdara, attacked the on duty BIA officer in a bar.

After a verbal altercation, I.A. physically attacked M.S., who identified himself as a BIA employee, hit him on the head with his hand, and then followed him into a restaurant where the BIA employee tried to take shelter and call for help.

However, I.A. grabbed him by the neck and threw him outside, after which he struck him three more times on head, from which M.S. sustained minor injuries.

After he has been questioned in the prosecution, it will be known whether the prosecutor will ask the court to detain I.A.
