Office for Kosovo and Metohija director: Current crisis threatens to turn into something more
Thanks to unilateral violent moves by Pristina, we are in a situation where the crisis, caused by the prime minister of the Provisional Institutions of Pristina, Albin Kurti, threatens to turn into something much more, the director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petkovic, said this morning.
He was on RTS when he said that the situation should return to the period before September 20, and only then should the talks in Brussels take place.
He stressed that Belgrade always insists on peace, dialogue, for all open issues to be resolved in Brussels, that the Brussels agreements, agreements on freedom of movement be respected, while, he points out, Pristina has been rejecting all that.
Petkovic stressed that it is important that we all know that Belgrade and the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, will insist that no one can humiliate Serbia.
"We are here to talk and find solutions, but it is is absolutely unacceptable for someone to bring in force, Rosu special units with rifles and armored vehicles to the north of Kosovo and Metohija and thus create a completely new reality on the ground, which is supposed to be the basis for a conversation that Kurti did not want to have just a few weeks ago," said Petar Petkovic.
Members of Rosu took down "Welcome to the Community of Serb Municipalities" billboard last night
Members of the so-called Kosovo police last night removed a billboard reading, in Serbian, "Welcome to the Community of Serb Municipalities" which was placed in Ranilug, said the director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petkovic.
"Obviously, Albin Kurti is going for an open confrontation with the Community of Serb Municipalities and the Brussels Agreement, his violation of which has led to the crisis in the north of Kosovo and Metohija," Petkovic wrote on Twitter.
Billboards with the message "Welcome to the Community of Serb Municipalities" were previously placed in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica and Gracanica, from where they were also removed.
Yesterday, the so-called Kosovo police brought in three Serbs to a police station for putting up a billboard in Gracanica, the director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Petar Petkovic wrote on Twitter.
KPS members then removed the billboard and took the young men to the police station.
After the arrest, they had to write statements, while the police told them that they would arrest anyone putting up billboards with this content because, as the police said, "it is forbidden to put up such billboards, because that's a provocation."
