The fourth gathering dedicated to demographics started in Budapest this morning, during which the keynote is being given by President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic.

The summit began with a cultural program, and was opened by Hungarian Minister for Families Katalin Novak.

President of Serbia started giving his keynote speech at 9:25 am, while former Vice President of the United States Mike Pence, Prime Minister of Slovenia Janez Jansa and Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki will also participate in the same panel.

As part of his visit to Hungary, Vucic will have separate meetings with the prime minister of that country, Viktor Orban, as well as with prime ministers of Slovenia and the Czech Republic Janez Jansa and Andrej Babis.

The Serb member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik, will also participate in the cultural program that is part of the Budapest Summit,

The 4th Summit, whose topic is, "Family: the Key to Sustainability" aims to discuss challenges related to the family and to draw up proposals for joint solutions, but also to point out that not enough children are getting born in the Western world, as well as that an aging society threatens nations with extinction in the long run.

The previous three Budapest Demographic Summits were held in 2015, 2017 and 2019.

After arriving in Hungary, President Vucic together with Dodik visited the Church of St. George in Budapest, which belongs to the Diocese of Budim of the Serbian Orthodox Church, where he was welcomed by Bishop Lukijan with the clergy, who served a special prayer on that occasion, something that is done only when churches are welcoming special guests.

Last night, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban organized a dinner for some of the participants in the Fourth Demographic Summit in Budapest, which was among others attended by President Vucic, Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa, Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis and Serb member of BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik.
