Dacic on north Kosovo and Metohija: This is a test of how Serbia and intl. community will react
President of the Assembly of Serbia Ivica Dacic said this morning that what is happening at Jarinje represents "a general rehearsal" for how Serbia and the international community will react. The question, as he pointed out, is who is now the mentor behind what is happening.
"Germany, the US, someone else, and silence is a sign of approval," said the head of the National Assembly. "They came to the north of Kosovo and Metohija without an announcement, which they are not allowed to do... They want to bring the international community to a fait accompli. They had already been doing that, and tolerating such a political situation leads to precisely what is happening at Jarinje," Dacic said.
"Let me remind you, this topic was current even when the negotiations began in Brussels, in October 2012, which I was the one to start. Thaci and I then signed the agreement, and its essence was the formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities, which has not been implemented to this day. The guarantor of the signatures was Catherine Ashton and the EU," Dacic recalled in a statement for Kurir, reminding of a series of events that happened which the international community has tolerated, as it does what is happening now: the introduction of a 100 percent tax, the formation of the so-called the Kosovo army, Pristina's applications for membership in UNESCO and other international organizations, putting Serbs on trial throughout Kosovo.
As he added, here the essence is occupying the north of Kosovo and Metohija.
"That Kurti is acting like there was nothing before him... I just don't know if he's crazy or if he's doing this with someone's consent. They do not want to reach agreement," Dacic added and said that this is a "general rehearsal" at Jarinje to see how Serbia and the international community will react.
"What irritates me the most is the loud silence here as well, you have no reactions at all.... It's Vucic's fault, Dacic's ... you only hear that, but not any suggestions on what to do next," said Dacic, reminding that Kurti was in prison in Nis and that Vojislav Kostunica was the one who pardoned him.
