Fans intercept referees in tunnel and set fire to their car: Scandal after abandoned derby in BiH

A huge scandal happened in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), after the abandoned football derby of the local Premier League between Velez from Mostar and Banja Luka's Borac clubs!

Klix.ba is reporting that the referee of that match, Sabrija Topalovic, together with his assistants got attacked near Jablanica, in the Lendava tunnel, and that their car was set on fire with torches.

"On Tuesday evening, around 11:45 pm, a Mercedes vehicle with A.S. (1982), S.T. (1983) and A.A. (1971) inside was intercepted in the in the Lendava tunnel. The attackers smashed the windows with baseball bats and threw a torch into the car. On that occasion, A.A. received minor bodily injuries and got medical assistance at the Jablanica Health Center. The attackers fled in a Golf vehicle," Klix.ba was told in the Operative Center of the canton's Ministry of the Interior.

The derby was interrupted in the 81st minute when Borac was two goals ahead, because home fans in Mostar invaded the pitch, and the referee decided to stop the match because he thought that one player from Banja Luka got hit.

The media in BiH point out that the rules in this case are clear and that Borac will win the game 3-0.
