First photos of the fire in New Belgrade: Firefighters at the scene, fire spreads to 500 sq meters

A number of shacks are burning in New Belgrade this morning, and according to initial information, no one has been injured. The fire, that had spread to 500 square meters, has been localized and is currently being extinguished.

Firefighters immediately went to the scene and are putting out the blaze.

The commander of the Fire Brigade Belgrade Milos Majstorovic was also there, saying that six fire trucks and 24 firefighters from three stations were at the scene.

"They arrived after about 8 minutes. The fire has been localized and is being extinguished. There will be smoke for a while," Majstorovic said.

The fire broke out at around 8 am in Agostina Neta Street in New Belgrade.

According to our reporter from the scene, the shacks were abandoned.

The first unofficial information says that someone allegedly lit a fire inside one of the dwellings, so the fire broke out.

The pumping station Galovica is located nearby.
