This lake near Zajecar enchants at first sight: Lake Grlisko is a paradise for fishers
In addition to the fact that Lake Grlisko supplies nearby Zajecar with drinking water, fishing enthusiasts often enjoy it as well. Although the lake itself has a very important role in the functioning of the city, it seems that its tourist potential has not been sufficiently used. However, that does not stand in the way of nature lovers who enjoy its beauties.
Lake on Grliska River
Not far from the place where the Grliska River flows into the Beli Timok an artificial accumulation lake was created in 1989. It is named after the river.
The primary reason to create Lake Grlisko was to provide drinking water to the town of Zajecar. Its secondary purpose is sediment retention, that is, irrigation.
Precisely because its main function is to supply drinking water, boats are not allowed on this lake. Also, tourist facilities cannot be seen in the vicinity of this lake, which also makes sense.
But there are a number of small houses and camping sites. This lake is mostly visited by fishing and nature lovers.
