The supplementary i.e., the third, booster dose of the vaccine against Covid will start to be administered in the Republic of Serbia on Tuesday, August 17, 2021.

180 days after receiving the second dose, all vaccinated citizens will be able to get the third (booster) dose, and they will be invited to do so by text and email messages, that will contain a link to the eUprava (eGovernment) portal, where they will receive more detailed information.

There, they will be able to see whether they belong to a category of the population that is recommended to receive the third dose of the vaccine.

Regardless of whether they belong to one of these groups, anyone can get the supplemental shot if they wish - six months after the second, and after getting invited by eGovernment. Citizens should not apply for the third dose before being contacted by eGovernment.

All citizens can choose the vaccine, proceeding from it being safe and possible to receive an additional dose different from the vaccine they got originally.

Citizens will inform the doctor about the final choice of the vaccine, during the examination and consultation at a vaccination point. There are currently four types of Covid vaccines in Serbia and they are all in sufficient supply - Chinese (Sinopharm), Russian (Sputnik V) and vaccines manufactured by Pfizer/BionTech and AstraZeneca.

The third dose of the vaccine is especially recommended to the following categories of the population:

• persons with impaired immunity - immunodeficiencies and conditions of immunosuppression, recipients of bone marrow and solid organ transplants, persons on hemodialysis and persons living with primary or secondary immunosuppressed patients,

• persons over 70,

• persons over 60 who permanently reside in old people's homes and other social welfare institutions,

• employees in health care institutions and social welfare institutions,

• passengers in international traffic - citizens of Serbia who often travel abroad, either for work or for private reasons.

After receiving an invitation from eGovernment, citizens will be able to get vaccinated in all health centers throughout the Republic of Serbia, while in Belgrade, in addition to health centers, a special location will be opened in Hall 11 of the Belgrade Fair, while a list of immunization points will be available on the eGovernment portal.
