When asked by B92.net whether the letter from the Ministry of Education to the schools, which reached the public, was based on the recommendation of the Crisis HQ, Tiodorovic confirmed that it was.

Tiodorovic notes that the recommendation to the schools was not sent by the Crisis HQ, but by the Ministry of Education in cooperation with the Batutut Institute.

We recall that epidemiologist and member of the Crisis HQ for the fight against the coronavirus Predrag Ko previously stated that separating vaccinated from unvaccinated students older than 12 is the only logical solution he start the beginning of the school year. According to him, those who received the vaccine should go to classes, and those who did not should go to online classes.

In this regard, the Minister of Education Branko Ruzic spoke out, stating that the department will make a decision reharding the new schooll year by consulting the Crisis HQ, but did not directly answer the question whether vaccinated children older than 12 will go to school while those who are not must turn to online classes.

"The Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development will, as before, in cooperation with the competent institutions, monitor the epidemiological situation in the country. The decision on the manner of organizing classes in the new school year will be made in consultation with the Crisis HQ. At all times, the priority is the health and safety of children and employees," said Ruzic.

As the first deputy prime Mmnister, he says, a letter has been sent to the schools.

"We also appealed on schools with yesterday's letter to inform parents through their communication channels about the potential possibilities of vaccinating students over 12, which was pointed out by domestic health institutions, such as the Institute of Public Health 'Milan Jovanovic Batut' and the World Health Organization, all in accordance with the recommendation of the Crisis HQ. I stress that the intention of the letter was exclusively in the function of informing about the importance of vaccination and the recommendations from the professionals, and not to call for obligatory vaccines, which as the Minister of Education I cannot even do."

He stressed that we should all listen to what the professionals say, i.e. the competent health institutions, as well as to what the relevant Ministry is recommencing, that the Ministry of Education is only able to make an appeal about, inform and help the general goal.

"Thus, schools can only use the opportunity to inform parents about potential vaccination models and discuss it through teachers' councils, parents' councils, and this is especially important, given the fact that there is a lot of misinformation circulating in the public that slows down our fight against the Covid virus," he said-
