The prime minister of the Provisional Institutions of Pristina, Albin Kurti, reacted to today's signing of three agreements between North Macedonia, Albania and Serbia to say that the so-called Mini Schengen initiative lacks vision for the region. Reacting to his statement, the president of Serbia said that it made him laugh, because "they weren't aware that they needed Kurti's approval."

The office of the prime minister of so-called Kosovo told Radio Free Europe (RFE) in a written response that "views on the idea from Novi Sad, the so-called Mini Schengen, are already known."

"The initiative from Novi Sad does not have our approval and as a result we did not receive an official invitation to participate in the meeting (in Skopje). For us, the so-called MiniSchengen initiative is without a vision for the region. We proposed improving regional cooperation through CEFTA (Central European Trade Agreement) and SEFTA (Southeast European Free Trade Agreement), according to the EFTA-EEA (European Free Trade Association and European Economic Area) model, from which all Western Balkans countries have benefited at the same time," said the response.

The president of Serbia reacted to that and said that no one needed Kurti's approval.

"We laughed when we heard that we do not have the approval for Mini Schengen. We didn't even need it," said Vucic.

"I think that Rama is doing good things for his people, and the fact that Kurti does not understand that and thinks that it's time to close the space with chauvinistic messages... I think he's very wrong, but I have nothing against that," said the president of Serbia
