Rare Asian insect in Obrenovac: Looks like a hornet, nests in cavities, and is it dangerous?

The Asian resin bee also settled in the park near the Gerontology Center. The number of thes insect, originating from East Asia, has been increasing in Belgrade since 2019.
The Center for Bee Biology of the Faculty of Biology in Belgrade is studying this rare species, which first appeared in Serbia in 2017, RTV Mag reports.
Resin bees nest in cavities and timber.
They are not dangerous to the flora and fauna and, most importantly, they do not pose a danger to humans, although they look like hornets.
