Warrant issued for Belgrader who mowed down 6 pedestrians in Budva while speeding, then drove away
The police in Budva, Montenegro, have issued a warrant for the arrest of L.B (20) from Belgrade, who went on a driving rampage in the town's streets an hour after midnight last night, mowing down six pedestrians.
Police patrols blocked exits from the city last night, after a BMW was found on the road to Toplis Hill, which the Belgrader left behind as he was fleeing from the police.
As the daily Vijesti has been was told, the young man caused the traffic accident on the town's main boulevard at around 1:15 am, when he injured six pedestrians who happened to be on a sidewalk.
A.C. (19) from Loznica, S.B. (18) from Banja Koviljaca, N.L. (18) from Trsic, N.M. (19) from Banja Koviljaca, LJ.P. (70) from Ohrid and N.C. (50) from Ohrid all got injured.
The pedestrians suffered minor injuries, have been provided with emergency medical care and transported to the Kotor hospital.
After he mowed them down, the Belgrader continued to drive without stopping to check on his victims.
Soon, the police arrived at the scene, and intervention unit patrols started the chase.
The young man tried to escape from Budva via Toplis, but after seeing that the town was blocked, he caused another traffic accident - at around 1:20 am, he hit a Toyota on Jadarski Road, and then smashed into several more parked cars.
At that point he left the car and ran away towards the settlement.
The police operation is still ongoing and the young man is being searched for. The police managed to establish his identity and all border crossings have been notified.
