$25,000 needed to transfer body of Serbian DJ from US: "Difficult days for his loved ones"
Following the news of the tragic death of Serbian DJ Igor Garnier, who worked and lived in the US, a fundraising campaign was launched to raise money for the transfer of the body from the US and for the funeral expenses.
"He was an inspiration to all of us. Everyone who knew him, knows he was a great artist, DJ, producer, son and friend. He always put others first and had a heart of gold. He loved to teach others and spread his knowledge about life and music through his songs. He always gave more than he had and never asked for anything in return.
Igor left this world unexpectedly on July 4th, 2021. We would be grateful if you can help us in the transfer of his body back to Serbia, and funeral expenses. This is a tough time for all of his loved one's and anything would be appreciated. The funds will go towards his mother Renata Samardzic, her contact info is +381 64 8922 562.
I would like to thank everyone in advance for your contributions," wrote Igor Mijatovic.
The goal, as Igor stated, is to raise $25,000, and by midnight, $5,510 had been raised (over $9,600 by this morning).
You can see the fundraising page HERE.
Igor passed away in Washington at the age of 31 while working out, the media reported.
The young artist worked with one of the biggest names in electronic music - Erika Prydz. He was a talented musician. He started playing the piano at the age of six, and 16 years ago entered the world of electronic music.
Igor released successful album, with one of the most popular songs being "Milka Canic" - a cover of "Barbra Streisand" by the popular band Duck Sauce.
