President reacts after basketball team's debacle: That was a nightmare and national catastrophe

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stressed that the defeat of the men's national basketball team was hard for everyone, because basketball is a national sport in our country.

Our team was defeated by 95-102 by Italy in the final of a qualifying tournament and will miss out on the Olympic Games.

"This is a beautiful day after last night's nightmare, you must understand us, it's like when you lose in football, it's the same for us, a national catastrophe when we lose in basketball.

Today, this is the best medicine for the defeat we experienced last night," President Vucic said during the opening of a plant of Germany's MTU in Nova Pazova.
